Privacy First: Inscribe processes all your data on your device using Apple Intelligence. Your recordings, transcriptions, and documents never leave your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. We don't collect personal information, don't require accounts, and don't upload your content to any servers.

At Inscribe, privacy is our top priority. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our application. We've designed Inscribe to be fundamentally private by processing everything on your device.

  • Transcriptions: All transcriptions are processed and stored locally

We collect basic, anonymized usage statistics that help us understand how the App is used and improve its functionality. This includes:

  • App opens and feature usage (e.g., which features are used most often)
  • General performance metrics
  • Device type and operating system version
  • App version

Important: This data is completely anonymized and cannot be traced back to you. We never link this data to any personal identifier.

3.2 Crash Reports

When the App crashes or encounters errors, we collect technical information to help us fix bugs:

Important: Crash reports are anonymized and do not contain any of your personal content (recordings, transcriptions, or documents).

5. On-Device Processing

5.1 Apple Intelligence

Inscribe uses Apple Intelligence for all AI-powered features. This means:

  • All transcription happens on your device
  • AI summaries are generated locally
  • Document analysis occurs entirely on your device
  • No data is sent to external servers for processing

5.2 Offline Functionality

The App works completely offline. All features are available without an internet connection, ensuring your data never needs to leave your device.

6. Data Storage

6.1 Local Storage

All your recordings, transcriptions, and documents are stored locally on your device using iOS/macOS secure storage mechanisms.

6.2 No Cloud Sync

Inscribe does not include cloud sync functionality. Your data remains exclusively on the device where you created it.

6.3 Backups

If you back up your device to iCloud or your computer, your Inscribe data will be included in that backup according to your device's backup settings. These backups are managed by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy policy.

7. Data Security

We take data security seriously:

  • All data is stored using iOS/macOS secure storage
  • Data is protected by your device's security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)
  • No transmission of sensitive data over the internet
  • Regular security audits of our code

8. Third-Party Services

8.1 Apple Services

The App uses Apple's frameworks and services, including:

  • Apple Intelligence: For on-device AI processing
  • App Store: For app distribution and purchases

10. Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal information, there's no personal data for you to access, modify, or delete from our servers. All your data exists only on your device, and you have complete control over it:

  • Delete any recording or document at any time through the App
  • Uninstall the App to remove all data from your device
  • Control your device backups through your device settings

11. International Users

Inscribe is available worldwide. Since all processing happens on your device, your data never crosses borders or leaves your device, regardless of where you're located.

12. California Privacy Rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have certain rights. However, since we don't collect personal information that falls under CCPA, these rights do not apply to the use of Inscribe.

13. GDPR Compliance

For users in the European Union, we comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Since we don't collect personal data, GDPR's requirements regarding personal data processing do not apply to Inscribe's core functionality. The minimal anonymized analytics we collect cannot be used to identify individuals.
